Multi-Core Made Simple
Overview:
Multi-core processors are now mainstream. Embedded software vendors are now challenged with getting the most from the next generation processors with two, four or more cores. This webinar describes how the combination of the Intel® Core™ microarchitecture, POSIX threading, symmetric processing and advanced tooling available from Intel and QNX provide a solid foundation for multi-core software development.

Estimated Length: 1 hour, including Q & A.

Who should Attend:
This one-hour seminar with a short Q&A will be of great interest to embedded software development managers, architects, and developers who are considering using a multi-core processor for an upcoming project.

Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for this session.

Presenters:

Kerry Johnson has 20 years of industry experience, primarily in telecommunications systems. Prior to joining QNX, he served in various roles, including software design manager, product manager, and project management director, at companies such as Nortel, CrossKeys, and Research in Motion. He currently works at QNX as a senior product marketing manager.

Lori Matassa is a Sr. Staff Software Architect in Intel's Embedded and Communications Processor Division and holds a BS in Information Technology. She has over 20 years experience as an embedded software engineer, developing software for platforms including mainframe and midrange computer system peripherals as well as security, storage, and communication devices. In recent years, Lori contributed to Carrier Grade Linux and was a presenter and invited Birds of a Feather panel member at the Ottawa Linux Symposium in 2002. Currently, Lori is contributing to the enablement of multicore adoption for embedded and communication applications.
