We have all used an op-amp as a comparator at one time or another. But there are often unexpected problems. This lecture strongly advises the use of purpose-built comparators as comparators but, recognizing that the use of op-amps is inevitable from time to time, discusses the problems resulting when we do and how they may be minimized.
