This paper conveys the knowledge gained from developing the Intel Embedded Graphics Driver (IEGD) for the embedded market segment over several years. The practices and software architecture that have been put in place greatly decrease the time-to-market for any permutation of hardware platform configuration or operating system. Using the design principals described in this document an organization can improve their ability to have the next product in place and rely less on predictions of the unknown.
