DESCRIPTION
This class introduces some basic concepts of good processes as championed by CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration). It compares between ISO, CMMI, and Six Sigma. It presents a case study for how and why a small aerospace firm began implementing CMMI. It is applicable to projects that have concerns for software, hardware, and system architectures.

Kim has spent 26 years designing and developing medical, military, and satellite equipment. He co-founded and sold Stimsoft, a medical products company and currently consults in the aerospace industry to develop better processes for design and management. He has written two practical textbooks on product development and is writing or editing three more books. He is the Executive Vice President of the IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society, has published widely, and has four patents with several more pending.
