DESCRIPTION
This course discusses switchmode power supply design issues including an in depth discussion of flyback topology along with critical aspects of component selection. The design of the magnetics is also reviewed. A design example will illustrate how SMPS design can be simplified using Fairchild's FPS Designer software. The design is broken down into a few easy to understand steps followed by evaluation of how the results correlate once the design is built.
