Technologies for Efficient Programmable Multi-Communication Processors

Radio standards evolve, new standards emerge and more functionality is added into wireless terminals. The ability to integrate several distinct communication technologies in the unique device allowing re-configurability and seamless connectivity in heterogeneous networks becomes obligatory in implementation of the next generation wireless terminals. The article describes ASOCS' solution, called ModemX, a "multi-core digital signal accelerator processing platform", acting as real SDR.
