RF Processing Using SEAforth
by IntellaSys
The SEAforth family of microprocessors provides excellent platforms for building software defined radios. Not only can required functions—such as filters, tracking loops, decimators, and so on—typically associated with DSPs—be implemented in software on SEAforth devices, doing so may not require the entire capacity of a SEAforth chip. Thus, other application code can reside in the chip as well. This allows for a cost effective solution for many applications that require, or are well served by having, a wireless data interface.
This paper provides an introduction to building a wireless communication channel using SEAforth. It is intended as a general introduction, not a detailed description of an implementation. That said, enough of a typical design is presented so that the approach, and more importantly, the use of SEAforth processor "nodes", can be estimated.IntellaSys
