This paper presents the results of experimentation with the packaging of a USB OTG controller respecting the IP-XACT schema provided by The SPIRIT Consortium. It discusses the documentation-, integration- and verification-related advantages of delivering standardized file packages. The paper explains how to handle interfaces, registers and multi abstraction level descriptions of the component. Also discussed is the use of IP_XACT files for IP testbench and simulation.
