Comparative table of MCUs
More InfoLess Info
Designers are faced with a bewildering selection of MCUs upon which to base their next embedded system. This comparative table of recently announced microcontrollers, which will be continiually updated, along with the associated Fundamentals of Microcontrollers course, will help make the selection process a little easier for the embattled engineer.
This list at present contains MCUs launched since June 2011 but earlier devices will be added and new ones as they are introduced. It is split into sections covering 8- 16- and 32-bit MCUs.
The datasheet link has still to be filled in but www.datasheets.com is the best link to get any datasheets.
If you would like to add to this table with noteworthy devices, or comment on the current selections, contact Colin Holland at colin.holland@ubm.com.

There are thousands of new MCUs released each year, you managed to cover 15 of them...

Needs updating, but provides a nice template to follow when updating it yourself.

Idea is good. However, there is a huge scope to improve the data.

I like the way it present and this is a nice idea. Try to populate it with (more) data.

should have been and interactive table/XLS where one can select features and it automatically shortlists the relevent MCUs

I start with Digikey's database. You apply whichever filter you want to narrow down the list of the ~32,000 MCUs. You don't have to order anything or sign-up to use it. Other sites - Mouser, Allied, etc, - have very similar searchable/filter databases as well. http://search.digikey.com/us/en/cat/integrated-circuits-ics/embedded-microcontrollers/2556109?k=microcontroller

Good Initiative to Start with. Individual professionals may add the list of MCUs and update the list so that it will be a good reference for next design..
