Constructing Model Driven Architecture Platform Independent Models

Model Driven Architecture (MDA), an OMG standard framework, helps software developers deliver quality software on time. MDA's key concept is the separation of the Platform Independent Model (PIM) from the Platform Specific Model (PSM). PIMs define "what" the system does. PSMs define "how" to implement the PIM on a technology platform. PIMs are simple to construct and easy to read. MDA tooling automatically transforms a PIM into multiple PSMs increasing the embedded systems developer's ability to react to changing requirements.
